Descripción completa del empleo

Fabric8Labs, headquartered in sunny San Diego, CA, is revolutionizing advanced manufacturing with next-generation 3D printing technology. We're looking for a Material Handler to assist with handling all material properly and efficiently as we scale our patented Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM) process for global production.

ECAM uses precise, room-temperature metal deposition to unlock geometries and applications that conventional metal AM can't reach. Since announcing our agreement to be acquired by TDK Corporation, we're rapidly expanding our team to advance this disruptive technology across a wide range of electronics components—including data center infrastructure, wireless communications, and power electronics.

As a Material Handler, you will move material, run the receiving dock, keep the kanban bins full, count parts, and be the point person for the build team.

If you're excited to help shape the future of manufacturing alongside a growing team, come join us. We thrive on collaborative problem-solving and are eager to bring in diverse minds and perspectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities against the purchase order, and record 100% of receipts in our ERP system (ERPNext) the same day.
  • Label parts, bins and boxes accurately, including creating custom labels with a label printer.
  • Put material away to the correct bin and location, and keep the receiving area and supply chain racks clear and organized.
  • Move and distribute material throughout the facility to the build, repair and production teams.
  • Run daily rounds: check kanban signal cards and bin levels, identify shortages, and trigger reorders before anything runs out.
  • Set up new kanban and two-bin systems to add to the ones we already have.
  • Perform cycle counts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly schedule by part class, and help investigate discrepancies to root cause.
  • Complete material transfers in the system whenever parts move, so the records stay accurate.
  • Kit and package material for shipment to outside suppliers doing sub-assembly and plating work, and track what comes back.
  • Support shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, and packaging.
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jacks for heavy lifting and pallet handling.
  • Help lay out, rack and organize the new Carlsbad warehouse as it comes online.
  • Keep the work area clean and safe, and follow safe handling practices for chemicals and heavy material.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of inventory, warehouse, receiving or material handling experience.
  • Comfortable using a computer and an ERP or inventory system daily — you will be scanning and transacting, not writing on a clipboard.
  • Accurate and organized. In this job, close enough is not accurate, and we will notice either way.
  • Forklift experience; certification preferred, and we will certify you if you are not certified.
  • Able to lift and move material regularly and be on your feet for a good portion of the shift. Steel-toed boots are required and will be provided.
  • Reliable and on time. The build team is waiting on the parts you put away.
  • Willing to work on-site in Sorrento Valley for the first few months and then full time in Carlsbad.
  • English required.

Location

This position starts at our Sorrento Valley facility (San Diego, CA 92121) for approximately the first three to six months, then moves full time to our new Carlsbad facility (Carlsbad, CA 92010). Please apply only if you can commute to both locations.
