Fabric8Labs is focused on accelerating metal additive manufacturing adoption and enabling new applications with our patented Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM) process. Since closing our Series B funding round, we are rapidly expanding our team to advance and commercialize our disruptive technology.
As a Process Engineer, you will be a crucial part of the team: working across multiple disciplines, including robotics, fluid handling, and embedded software, in a fast-paced research and development environment. You will be hands-on with our printing technology, helping us scale and improve our processes and guide our experiments.
If you are excited about the opportunity to change the future of manufacturing in collaboration with our growing team, then come join us! Backed by industry-leading partners, including Mark Cuban, Intel Capital, TDK Ventures, Stanley Black and Decker, and NEA: Fabric8Labs is at the forefront of advanced manufacturing, and we are excited to bring in diverse minds and perspectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Investigate our complex, multi-physics system to gain a fundamental understanding of the system and use learnings to improve our printing methods and processes
- Work alongside an interdisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to analyze in-situ data as well as post-print material characteristics and rapidly iterate on improving the printing technology
- Collect and analyze test data using our printers
- Assist in supervision of other members of technical staff, including planning and reporting of technical progress
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Physics; or a related field
- Strong science background, proven in either independent experience with custom hardware and/or research, working across disciplines.
- Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting: use of multimeters and oscilloscopes
- 2+ years of proven related industry experience, with non-academic research experience a plus
- 2+ years of experience developing software using Python, especially for data analysis
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Physics; or a related field
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of semiconductor and MEMS devices, nanofabrication process flows, and root cause analysis (RCA) and failure analysis.
- Experience with 3D printers and other additive manufacturing techniques, a plus but not required
- Experience with prototyping and assembling, troubleshooting, modification; and/or with reiterative design based on test results.
Why Work at Fabric8Labs?
