Descripción completa del empleo

Fabric8Labs, headquartered in sunny San Diego, CA, is revolutionizing advanced manufacturing with next-generation 3D printing technology. We're looking for a Facilities Technician to assist with building out and maintaining the production and engineering facilities as we scale our patented Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM) process for global production.

ECAM uses precise, room-temperature metal deposition to unlock geometries and applications that conventional metal AM can't reach. Since announcing our agreement to be acquired by TDK Corporation, we're rapidly expanding our team to advance this disruptive technology across a wide range of electronics components—including data center infrastructure, wireless communications, and power electronics.

If you're excited to help shape the future of manufacturing alongside a growing team, come join us. We thrive on collaborative problem-solving and are eager to bring in diverse minds and perspectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the buildout and maintenance of production facilities and systems
  • Set up and modify the physical infrastructure of the building
  • Routine Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify system malfunctions, diagnose equipment failures, and execute timely repair solutions
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work meets local building codes, OSHA guidelines, and company safety regulations; maintain spec compliance of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms)
  • Inventory & Work Order Management: Track maintenance supplies, manage inventory, and log/complete daily maintenance tickets
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to spec out, order, and set up workstations
  • Use feedback from operators to improve workstation layout

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience identifying infrastructure needs and implementing them
  • Experience with handyman-type tasks (e.g. hanging shelves/tv)
  • Experience with material handling (e.g. use of dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks) and chemical handling (e.g. drum dollies, safety measures)
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, compressed air, vacuum, city water, deionized water, chilled water, and IT infrastructure
  • General mechanical maintenance (e.g. repair of simple mechanical equipment)
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with basic hand and power tools (conduit bending a plus)
  • Ability to fully execute a project from start to finish with minimal supervision and high attention to detail
  • Self motivated and able to work as a team or independently

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • HVAC Experience a plus
  • Forklift experience a plus

Why Work at Fabric8Labs?

  • This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing ladders
  • The employee must be able to safely use hand and power tools and perform work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other maintenance areas
  • The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with heavier items moved using assistance or mechanical lifting devices
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, cleaning chemicals, and other conditions typical of facilities maintenance
