Fabric8Labs, headquartered in sunny San Diego, CA, is revolutionizing metal additive manufacturing with advanced 3D printing technologies. We’re looking for a skilled Senior Thermal Engineer to join our team.
Fabric8Labs is focused on accelerating metal additive manufacturing adoption and enabling new applications with our patented Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM) processes. Since closing our Series B funding round, we are rapidly expanding our team to advance and commercialize our disruptive technology.

Primary Responsibilities
- Work in a fast paced environment in which you are required to develop and analyze thermal management products.
- Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses for liquid cooled products; evaluate and post-process results to inform and recommend design decisions.
- Develop thermal analyses reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business development and product teams to identify and develop new product opportunities.
- Work directly with customers to develop thermal management solutions that take advantage of our high-resolution 3D metal printing technology.
- Collaborate cross-functionally across teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, preferably thermal or mechanical engineering.
- 4+ years of direct industry experience in a thermal design and/or analysis role. Specifically seeking experience in liquid cooling.
- Expert in advanced modeling and analysis, e.g. via CFD in Ansys Fluent, FloEFD, or Celsius EC.
- Strong understanding of fundamentals of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
- Strong organizational skills while also being able to operate in an ambiguous startup environment.
- Hands-on experience in thermal testing and data analysis. Proficient in developing test setups to experimentally evaluate and validate the performance of various thermal products.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing processes and materials.
- You must have a growth mindset, exhibit extreme accountability, and be self-motivated to succeed in this role.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Product Management experience in the thermal management space for data centers.
- Master or PhD of Engineering in relevant discipline.
- Proficient in design via 3D CAD software, e.g. SolidWorks, nTopology.
