Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Shipping Lead to build and lead our shipping operations from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic setup and day-to-day execution. You’ll be responsible for designing efficient shipping workflows, implementing tools and systems, and initially handling packing and fulfillment yourself as we scale.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll help shape how our products move from our facility to customers around the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement shipping processes, workflows, and documentation
• Select and configure shipping tools (e.g., ShipStation or similar platforms)
• Establish relationships with carriers and negotiate rates

Operations & Fulfillment

• Pack and ship orders with care and attention to detail (especially early on)
• Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and compliance with shipping requirements
• Maintain inventory of packaging materials and supplies

Systems & Data Integration

• Set up and manage basic integrations between shipping platforms and internal data systems (e.g., CSVs, order exports, ERP connections)
• Troubleshoot simple data flows and ensure accurate order processing

Scaling & Optimization

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase throughput
• Help evaluate and implement packaging automation solutions over time
• Hire and train additional team members as volume grows

Qualifications

• Experience setting up or significantly improving a shipping/fulfillment operation
• Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., ShipStation, EasyPost, Shippo, or similar)
• Comfortable working with data files (CSV imports/exports, basic system connections)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness to be hands-on, including packing and shipping items daily
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with packaging automation equipment or warehouse automation systems
• Background in manufacturing, hardware, or physical product environments
• Experience integrating shipping tools with ERP or inventory systems
• Experience sourcing packaging materials, tools, equipment, and workstations
