Full job description

At Fabric8Labs, we’re building the thermal backbone for next-generation AI infrastructure.

As power densities in AI data centers continue to climb at an unprecedented pace, legacy cooling approaches are reaching their limits. We are scaling aggressively to meet market demand and are leveraging our additive manufacturing platform to deliver advanced liquid cooling and cold plate solutions that were previously impossible to manufacture.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to solve hard thermal problems, move fast, and help define the thermal and mechanical systems that will power the next generation of AI data centers.

This is not a maintenance role. This is a build-and-scale role.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead the design and development of high-performance cold plates and liquid cooling systems for AI and HPC environments.
  • Architect solutions capable of handling extreme and continuously increasing heat flux requirements.
  • Drive detailed thermal and mechanical analysis (CFD, FEA, flow modeling, pressure drop optimization).
  • Leverage advanced manufacturing capabilities to unlock new thermal geometries.
  • Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate designs to push performance limits.
  • Develop validation methodologies for thermal efficiency, mechanical integrity, and long-term reliability.
  • Partner closely with customers, system integrators, and internal manufacturing teams to transition designs into scalable production.
  • Establish best practices and engineering standards as we grow the team.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to building a world-class thermal engineering design team.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing liquid cooling systems, cold plates, or high heat-flux thermal solutions.
  • Strong understanding of AI/HPC data center power density challenges.
  • Cold plate and manifold design
  • Two-phase or single-phase liquid cooling
  • Thermal interface optimization
  • Strong mechanical design fundamentals (GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, DFM/DFA).
  • Experience bringing hardware from concept to production.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, scaling startup environment.
  • High ownership mindset and bias toward action.

Why This Role Matters

AI infrastructure is scaling faster than thermal technology has historically evolved. The gap between compute density and cooling capability is widening — and solving it requires new thinking, new manufacturing approaches, and strong mechanical leadership.

At Fabric8Labs, we are actively expanding to meet explosive demand in AI data centers. The engineers who join us now will directly shape the architecture, standards, and performance envelope of our next-generation cooling platforms.

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
