This internship offers direct exposure to the underwriting process inside one of the most reputable risk underwriting firms in renewable infrastructure. You’ll be part of a small, fast-paced team working at the intersection of finance, energy, and innovation, learning how real-world project financings get evaluated and executed.
At Energetic Capital, we take a people-first approach to hiring. We seek talented, curious individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex problems. If you’re looking for a role where your work directly contributes to financing the clean energy transition, we’d love to talk.

In this role, you will

  • Support the underwriting of renewable infrastructure projects by analyzing credit, sponsor, and asset-level risks
  • Assist in evaluating transaction structures, key project documents, and financial models
  • Build and maintain project finance models in Excel to assess cash flows and deal performance
  • Conduct due diligence on project sponsors, counterparties, and financiers
  • Prepare internal memos summarizing key deal terms and risk factors for underwriting committee review
  • Collaborate with underwriters and capital markets professionals to support deal execution
  • Gain exposure to credit insurance, risk transfer, and the capital formation process for energy assets

An ideal candidate will have

  • Strong interest in renewable energy, finance, or risk management
  • A problem-solving mindset and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (modeling experience is a major plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A desire to work in a small team environment and take initiative
  • Enthusiasm for learning every aspect of project finance underwriting from due diligence to deal structuring

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student (junior or senior preferred) or recent graduate
  • Concentration in finance, economics, engineering, data analytics, or related field
  • Prior coursework or experience in project finance, renewable energy, or corporate finance is a plus—but not required
